It is important to give young people the chance to understand themselves, to utilize their potential and to give them an opportunity besides protecting them against dangers. Our focus is young people, without making any discrimination. We believe that any investment made to human develops and advances the societies. Our foundation is established for the purpose of carrying out educational studies- other than family and school education- in accordance with the determined goals. Spreading is planned through the transfer of learned values by educated volunteer young people to their peers and the education of the psychologists who provide education. It would be easier for the young people to assume their own responsibilities if they know themselves and are aware of their own capabilities. A young person, who knows himself/herself, will start to perceive the "other" differently. It will be easier to create synergy from differences, and the young people would achieve the practical experience they need in social life. Individuals and organizations who are in contact with youth and play role in raising them such as parents, teachers polices, judicial organs will be supported with educational studies. Studies will take place to create awareness among the government and society on youth. Let’s reach out to “young lives” together. Vision Our vision is to accomplish a social transformation, where democracy and human rights are entrenched, synergy can be created from differences, and a culture of tolerance and communication prevails. We aim to do this by educating the youths (in the age group of 11-18) as individuals who respect human rights, have self-confidence, are able to think critically and are able to live together with differences. Mission The mission of the Young Lives Foundation (Genç Hayat Vakfı) is to develop various programs and activities, to accomplish awareness and consciousness, to provide support as a non-governmental organization, in policy making to ensure the permanence of this transformation for the youth: * to recognize themselves * to recognize the others * to live together with the differences * to expose their potential * to accomplish awareness of responsibility towards their family, community and country * to internalize human rights and democracy * to appropriate tolerance and empathy culture During the period between the ages of 11-18, when the mental and physical transformations are experienced most intensely. |
